ASBSU President: Katie Larkins

What is your major and why did you
choose it?
I am a Biology major. I chose it because I
like science and have always been interested
in both medicine and environmental
work, so this major gave me the most
career options.

Now, who hasn't heard of the Young Men's Christian Association? For those of you who suck at acronyms, this is simply the YMCA. If you still haven't heard of it, read no further. Go forth and become educated. You're in college, for heaven's sakes. But anyway, they're a great place for rock climbing, swimming, martial arts, yoga, exercise or pretty much anything.

Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV)
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."
Romans 5:3-5 (NIV)

"Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Is Our Generation Entitled?

In a sermon I heard recently,
the speaker claimed that this new
generation, my generation and yours,
is called "The Entitled Generation." What this meant, he explained, was that our generation feels as though they are
entitled to privileges.

We think we deserve a
guiding hand to help us through the transition to adulthood and to take
some of the burden of responsibility away.
